This lesson plan was created with a view to integrate different art forms in English Language Learning.
It is aimed at upper-intermediate learners and the activities are scaffold and mostly task-based. The method of instruction ranges from whole class activities to pair work and group work collaborative learning.
This is an introductory section aiming at:
introducing the main concept while expanding students' related vocabulary and raising awareness on the topic. It also functions as a pretest checking existing knowledge and language skills.

5. How must the artist be feeling towards the situation he/she is depicting? Why is that?
A crisis is experienced both on the individual as well as at social level. This lesson focuses mostly on individual matters within society.
Can words and images say the same thing in different ways? A combination of a famous poem and a well-known painting will be used to explore this thought-provoking question.
